Responsible for directing the 14,000 square foot physical therapy department of a 60‑bed regional rehabilitation center which also provided services to an adjoining hospital of 420 beds.  Duties consisted primarily of supervising more than 30 staff members, program planning, marketing, staff development, quality assurance, budgetary management (fiscal year 1985/1986 revenue = $1,995,000, expenses ‑ $606,000), research, clinical education and patient care.  Participated on several hospital committees and task forces.

TITLE: Chief Physical Therapist/Assistant Professor (1982)

Responsible for directing physical therapy department in 480‑bed acute care and rehabilitation teaching hospital.  Duties consisted primarily of supervision of 18 staff members, research, procedure, and program development, quality assurance, productivity and budgetary monitoring, clinical teaching, and patient care. Taught in BS‑PT program.

Responsible for evaluating, treating, and instructing patients in home setting.  Most patients were neurologically involved (CVA, spinal cord injury).

INSTITUTION: Governor Morehead School for the Blind, Raleigh, NC

TITLE: Physical Therapist I – part‑time (1979 – 1980)

Responsible for initial development, implementation, and direction of the physical therapy program for multi‑handicapped children.  Services performed included screening, evaluation and treatment of students with neurologic and orthopedic disabilities.

Responsible primarily for the evaluation and treatment of neurologically involved patients (CVA, head injury, peripheral nerve lesions).
